Brockport takes quad-meet at home

The College at Brockport gymnastics team spent their entire season traveling to far away schools to face teams with home crowds and high-scores. The Golden Eagles (12-5) finally got their turn Saturday, winning a quad-meet at the Tuttle North Gymnastics Center.

Brockport topped Southern Connecticut State, Ithaca College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology by scoring their highest total of the season, winning three team events and two individual events.

Women qualify for NCAAs, Men left off bracket

The 2007-08 College at Brockport basketball season will be remembered for both the unexpected rise of the unranked women’s team and the fall of the once-heralded men’s team.

The women’s team’s rise to prominence reached a new peak as the Golden Eagles automatically clinched a spot in the tournament Saturday with a 75-59 win over Cortland in the SUNYAC Championship game.

The win was crucial for Brockport’s qualification, as the Golden Eagles were the lone team picked for the 63-team field by the NCAA. Read More
