It's all Greek to me: By Amanda Seef
News Editor
There are two types of Greeks in the Brockport community — chartered and unchartered. Though the latter often is seen as the partiers and the former as the “goody-two-shoes,” the stereotypes and perceptions are often not true. The realm of Greek life on The College at Brockport’s campus is often hidden behind inaccurate, false rumors and exaggerated lies, spread through online gossip and word of mouth. |

The Final Grades
It’s that time of year all students dread: finals. With finals come the even more frightful final grades. Sometimes it doesn’t seem fair that professors get to dole out final grades when we have little say over their performances (excluding ratemyprofessors.com and those lovely bubble-sheet evaluations). So, without further ado, we’d like to share our own evaluations of the institutions here at the College at Brockport, taking a little inspiration from the “superlative” section of our high school yearbooks. |

Hair sweeps audience into story By K.J. Bar The College at Brockport’s Department of Theatre and the Harlequins presented Hair, the tribal rock musical. Hair was directed by Michael Krickmire the past two weekends at the Tower Fine Arts Mainstage, with musical direction by Carol Brown and choreography by Gaelyn Walker. As the opening night crowd filed into the theater, cast members wandered around in character to set the mood for the performance. Because it began with a ritual that intrigued the audience, anticipation for the show increased. The first song of the show, “Aquarius,” sung by Kenneth Byrd as Ronny, was entertaining, if a little strained. The rest of the show fluctuated in terms of talent. The first time the audience saw George Berger, the leader of the tribe, was during the song “Donna.” |

Eagles get revenge on Buffalo State; Cortland wins title By Jim Krencik Lexie Goodhart concluded a wild burst of play with a shot that tied the game at 13 all with just 47 seconds left, but the College at Brockport women’s lacrosse team could not keep Cortland from scoring the decider less than half of a minute later, ending what had been a successful stretch of revenge at the SUNYAC Playoffs for the best team in Brockport history. “It’s nice to be so close,” said Brockport head coach Traci Lian after the game. “But it hurts so much to lose by one.” The championship game, played at Cortland, was a back-and-forth game that tested both teams’ defenses throughout. Brockport was led by Julia Decker, who scored a hat-trick, and Goodhart, who helped stage multiple comebacks with bullet-fast shots. |
