Message from the President and Vice President elects By Kyle Amendola and Bill Keating We are extremely excited to be your next BSG President and Vice President! Over the past few weeks we have been very fortunate to speak with many students and hear their concerns that often go unnoticed. This has enabled us to develop strong lines of communication with many students from varying organizations, clubs, and athletic teams on campus and we hope these lines of communication will remain strong during our time in office. This will enable us to deliver to students what they truly desire from their student government. Budgeting programming for the entire year will be our top priority once we assume office. Our approach to programming for the upcoming year will be innovative and diverse, which will hopefully reach a larger portion of the student body than in previous years. We will be bringing back the Screamin’ Eagles fan club, eagle fest, as well as Green and Gold night. Our programming will reach out to students in various locations, such as TRAX, Tuttle gymnasium, and other locations throughout campus. We also plan to collaborate with various organizations around campus, such as Campus Life, Residential Life, and BSG clubs and organizations, which will allow us raise programming to a new level. You will see new innovative promotion and marketing strategies, that will catch your attention and keep you up to date on the programs and services BSG is providing for you. We want to break away from promoting events solely through fliers because with so many around campus, they are often overlooked. We plan to offer incentives and free giveaways to increase awareness of BSG programs and events. Our main goal is to increase student input, so we can put on programs and offer services students really want. We plan to create a programming board that will allow students from various organizations around campus, to offer input and make decisions on programs that we put on. We also intend to utilize ANGEL to distribute surveys to all Brockport students. We feel that this is a great way for students to have a voice in what programs and events are put on with their mandatory fee money. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the BSG election this spring. We value each and every student’s opinion and encourage you to come and speak with us personally. We will continue our dedication to our current positions as we begin our transition into next year. Again, we are honored and excited to be your next BSG President and Vice President. We encourage everyone to become involved with BSG next year and we will ensure that your voice will be heard.
