Golden Eagles engaged in tight battle for SUNYAC women's basketball supremacy

Brockport women’s basketball coach Michele Carron has seen a lot in her tenure on the Golden Eagles’ bench, and when she looks at the competition for this season’s SUNYAC title, she said she sees a well-rounded field.

“It’s anyone’s conference,” Carron said after the Golden Eagles defeated Oswego Jan. 18 “We have a lot of parity in the SUNYAC.”

This year, “anyone” could easily be Brockport, even though the Golden Eagles were on the losing-end of a down-to-the-wire conference game with the Potsdam Bears in the first game of their latest road-trip.

Can Brockport make the leap?

For the Brockport men’s basketball team, everything should be falling into place, and while most games have been “so far, so good” in 2008, the Golden Eagles will need to be “so great,” something they were unable to do in an 81-78 overtime loss to the Plattsburgh Cardinals Jan. 26.
